Ah, the Nemesis bird. We took a BGBY (Big Green Birding Year) bike ride and came across a jackpot. There was a nesting pair of Osprey, a colony of Egrets, Green Herons, Great Blue Herons, and Chimney Swifts. Finally, in the near- dark, I spotted a light patch on a branch. Sneaking closer, I saw it was my nemesis bird , the Black-crowned Night-heron. I've been chasing this bird everywhere...but I always just miss him, or don't have my camera, or can't find him. But today, he was within yards of me. However, it was very dark and a super long shutter speed was necessary...and without a tripod, it was futile to try to get a photo. This is the result, a really neat abstract un-edited shot.
